Just like Bruce Wayne, alias Batman, Tony Stark was a rich man who loved to tinker with science and high-technology gadgets. While witnessing the brutal killings of his parents triggered Bruce Wayne to be the Batman he is now, Tony Stark has a different, albeit equally painful, experience: Before his transformation to Iron Man, Tony was kidnapped and brutally treated by his captors. He suffered a major heart injury which prompted him to create a sort of “replacement” heart while in prison.
When Tony Stark escaped his captors, he perfected his suit of armor and began his transformation into Iron Man. His signature red and gold armor is fitted with lots of defensive and offensive weapons which help him battle various bad guys.
