Hellboy is an unusual superhero. As if his name isn’t a dead giveaway, Hellboy is indeed a boy, or in his case, a grown-up demon from Hell.
Created by Mike Mignola for a comic book, Hellboy was brought to the Earth by the Nazis but then he was discovered by the Allied Forces and was adopted by a certain professor. Hellboy grew into a huge, red-skinned demon with a pointy tail and stumps as horns. It seems that he files his horns daily to make him appear less-demon like. Hellboy and his adoptive father works together with other creatures and beings at the United States Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense in order to protect the country from a variety of bad guys- both human and creatures.
Hellboy was first introduced to the big screen in the year 2004. Directed by Guillermo del Toro and starred by Ron Perlman as Hellboy, the movie was a great success. While the movie was highly entertaining, you would surely have more fun with the Hellboy Director’s Cut Giftset DVD. The movie itself runs for 122 minutes aside from the extended never-before-seen version as well as other special features. The giftset is beautifully boxed and includes 3 discs.
