In the year 2003, a movie version of Elektra was released. The woman superhero is portrayed by Jennifer Garner, who really fits the bill in terms of psychical attributes as she was fresh from her stint from Alias. The movie was a conventional superhero movie that showcases wuxia-styled martial arts.

Created by Tim Kring, Heroes debuted on television with high ratings. The Emmy-nominated show is rich in drama, action and plot that has been delivered comic book style but without the chessy-ness. The Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow captures the experiences and challenges these children of the Avengers had to go through in their hopes of becoming the Next Avengers. They continue to fight Ultron together with their mentor, Ironman. But they must find Incredible Hulk first in order to become successful in their mission.

The Batman Superman Movie is a full length feature which storyline started from a TV series. The story began when Bruce Wayne (Batman) visited Clark Kent’s (Superman) City of Metropolis. To add a bit more edge to their already obvious rivalry, Bruce Wayne was trying to romance Lois Lane right under Clark Kent’s nose.

But things change when Joker was hired by Lex Luthor to kill Superman. Since Batman knew Joker more that Superman does, they cooperated and worked together to defeat both villains. This 64 minute film in DVD format is action packed and still kid-friendly even with a bit of violence.

All the characters in the book have very interesting backgrounds which makes the plot even more interesting. One would not expect that these fictional characters would jive really well. Squabbles, fights and disagreements among the League adds juice to the story.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is set in a somewhat era of Victorian or Edwardian and the league has come together to be a part of one big adventure: to defeat a super villain blowing up a city. It is arousing and appealing in a unique kind of way. This book might be a bit dark and different but it is definitely a must-read.
